India has been in the trading business for decades which has resulted in the immense growth of national as well as international trade. Middle East countries like the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia export raw materials to purify and produce the fuels. Among the export items from India, the export of precious metals and stones is the second largest trade from India. India contributes to 29% of global jewelry consumption, and its export contributes to 7% of India's total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Export destinations for jewelry and precious stones include the US, Europe, Japan, and China. In fact, the US alone contributes to one-fourth of the total export. India accounted for US$26.02B of jewelry trade in the financial year 2020-21. The Indian government aims to increase this value to US$80B in four years from 2019. Organic chemicals include chili, cumin, turmeric, etc., chemicals used for scientific experiments and development. India is pretty famous in regards to these export items. These products are majorly exported to the US, Russia, Germany, and South Africa. 70% of the world's total spices exported come from India. It is also the largest consumer in the world.
Other large export items from India include Pharmaceuticals, Steel, Iron, clothing, etc. India is one of the best in silk clothing. As mentioned earlier, India is one of the largest countries for trade. It accounts for 18.43% of India's GDP, and thus, has been an integral part of the country's economy.
