These export organizations do market research in overseas commerce and disseminate information from their research and market surveys. As a result, the exporter should contact them for help.

The Federation of Indian Export Organizations is the umbrella organization for different export promotion organizations and institutes in India. It was founded in 1965 and had its registered office in Delhi. Federation of Indian export organizations serves as a common and coordinating platform for diverse export organizations, such as commodity councils and boards and service institutions and organizations.

FIEO's main operations

The Foreign Trade Policy of the Government of India and the Memorandum and Articles of Association of FIEO govern the membership rules of the organization. To reap the foreign trade policy benefits, an exporter must get the Registration- cum –Membership Certificate (RCMC). For registration reasons, the government has recognized FIEO as an Export Promotion Council.

The government has designated Federation of Indian export organizations as an Export Promotion Council. According to the Foreign Trade Policy, an exporter must get a Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) to take advantage of the Policy's numerous benefits. If multi-product exporters are not registered with any EPC and who’s main line of business has still to be determined, the exporter must get RCMC from the Federation of Indian Exporters Organization (FIEO).

Key Advantages

1. Global Presence

The FIEO registration provides exporters with adequate worldwide exposure advice.

2. Programs for Export Promotion

Exporters registered with FIEO can participate in Export-Promotion Programs such as seminars, workshops, and certification courses.

3. Air Travel Subsidy

The FIEO registration allows exporters to receive a 10% discount on all local and international flight tickets.

4. Online business for free

E-commerce portal eBay provides FIEO Members with the ability to run free online stores for six months, while Amazon provides a similar service for three months.

The following are the main activities carried out by FIEO:

1. Organizing meetings, conferences, seminars, and workshops to evaluate and debate India's export challenges and opportunities. It formulates and authorizes recommendations to the government. India's exporting communities and export promotion institutes are represented in the meetings and seminars' deliberations.

2. The FIEO organizes round table meetings of business interests with trade delegations and other business teams visiting India.

3. Inviting Economic and Trade Missions from other countries to visit India's industrial and commercial centers.

4. Organizing media events, exhibits, advertising, and publications to showcase Indian goods and services in international markets.

5. FIEO funds trade and economic missions, export houses, consulting businesses, and study sales teams.

6. Maintaining contact with international organizations such as the International Trade Centre (ITC), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the International Labor Organization (ILO), among others.
